About the Facility - Murfreesboro VAMC Since 1940, soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen have been treated at what is now called the York VA Medical Center. It has seen the United States' finest - those who have valiantly given service to their country - mending them from mental or physical illness, or both. The Murfreesboro Veterans Administration Hospital Historic District, which is now the Alvin C. York campus of the Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, recently was named to the National Register of Historic Places. This facility provides primary care and specialty health services, including addiction and substance abuse treatment, mental health care, recreational therapy, laboratory services, and more.

Requirements (duties include but are not limited to) - Provide services to include, but not be limited to diagnosing, treating and managing veteran patients with sleep disorders according to standard, usual and acceptable or customary methods and techniques.
- Work with physicians and technologists in the sleep program within the Department of Neurology. Responsibilities will include sleep clinic, reading sleep studies and teaching sleep fellows. In addition, the physician will participate in reading EEGs (routine and long term and other neurophysiologic studies.
- Work independently, caring for outpatients in an established sleep specialty clinic.
- Cooperate with and participate in medical duties or functions related to quality-of-care review and improvement.
- Work closely and collaboratively with all members of the Sleep Clinic team, and the Neurology department clinical and administrative staff.
- Participate in the general Neurology clinic and the inpatient Neurologist service, including ward service duties as Attending physician, and on the inpatient consultation team.
- Participate in the teaching and supervision of Neurology residents and medical students and other trainees rotating through the Neurology service, and outside of the Neurology department within the VA Medical Center Sioux Falls.
- Participate in on-call duties for the Department of Neurology including weekend and evening/night-time hours as needed to fulfill his/her obligations in the clinical care of the patients.
- Participate in Sleep telehealth aspects including sleep telehealth visits.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Must be a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Osteopathy (D.O.) who has completed an internship and residency in an accredited Neurology Training Program and is board certified or board eligible in Neurology
- Must have and maintain a valid, unrestricted license in one of the 50 states in the U.S., the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Must have a minimum of two years recent experience having been continuously employed in the practice of Neurology and possess fellowship training as a nerve muscular specialist or in electro diagnostics equivalent to one full year.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology with special interest in sleep disorders and clinical neurophysiology.
